From Satara Camp Site Kruger National Park

We left the Bay just over a week ago and headed North towards Kruger National Park.

Passing through Piet Retief we decided to take a detour through Swaziland and took a right turn through the border post at Sandalane. First mild panic attack - no passport for Necia! Got sorted and promptly went off cell phone contact  for two days much to the consternation of Megan and Heath!
Two freezing nights spent in an isolated camp at Malolotja Nature Reserve. Loved the hikes and dip (!) in the river.

We excitedly drove in through Crocodile Bridge, KNP, only to be told that it was " Pensioners' Month" followed by long weekend and "no room in the camp site".
We did get two nights, though, with all the oldies and our friendly neighbours gave us good tips on traveling in Botswana.

We then left for Gecko Backpackers in Hazyview for two nights and did the Panorama Tour whilst there.

Back into KNP to Satara camp for three nights! Some good sightings and hot weather. Decision made to try always to camp for at least three nights. We have got quite good at setting up and taking down in a jiffy but it is more fun and gives one time to do things - or nothing!

We leave tomorrow for Tzaneen and friends in Polokwane.
Next post will be from Botswana.
