"Back home on the Ranch"

The waiting game begins. Window on order from Japan, minimum 14- 21 working days.

The main house.

All sorts of game come strolling past the house.

We went back to Sally and Steve's Sable Ranch between Polekwane and Makopeng. They have been the most wonderful people and allowed us to make this a home from home for two weeks. We were told our window will be ready to be fitted tomorrow - Thursday.

I had the chance to help build a green house - here it is for the frost and to stop the rabbits getting in rather than shade and monkeys.

We went to a game auction near Modimolle - it was just too amazing. I had no idea the scale and importance of game ranching in this country. The number of buyers, from all over Southern Africa, and the prices paid. One Golden Wildebeest sold for over R2.7 million. I had not even heard of Golden Wildebeest!

Black Impala.

Two females.

We also went to Hanaertsburg in Magoebaskloof for a day and 10 k hike. I think if this town was closer to Cape Town Necia would have chosen it as our 'place to live', a really small quaint village cross between Clarens and Greyton.

Heath was at Wits doing a Statistics course and was able to drive up to see us. It was a
wonderful opportunity for us. Family is important.
Proud mother.

Proud father.

Yesterday we went to Bella Bella - Warmbaths - Necia luxuriating in the hot pools.
We got to meet Jack!
The newest member to our family - born 3 June.

Robyn, my niece and proud mother.

Nicky, my sister and proud grandmother.

Necia doing what she loves.

The window delay has given us some amazing times and we are very greatful for them. Things happen for a reason. Good to see family and it is getting bigger! Great to have such wonderful friends as Sally and Steve. It has truly been a great place to stay and just relax. Also spending some time with their daughter Sarah, and parents John and Fam has been inspirational. Friends are important.

Today we have to do some preparations for going into Zimbabwe. There are some odd prescriptive things that need to be done - particularly to the vehicle to prevent some of the spot fines that are handed out at the road blocks. We realize we won't get them all right and think should you be perfect anyway? Hopefully have the window fitted on Thursday and attempt Beitbridge on Friday.
